The Microsoft hosted SharePoint is a CMS (Content Management System) utilized by most major companies from all across the world. As there was little support for accessing the SharePoint via mobile devices before, the problem has been rectified and this support is set to increase with the latest version of SharePoint 2010. And a key to this is the SharePoint Workspace Mobile software and the mobile phone operating system Windows Mobile 7. This provides the cell phone users with the capability to interact with other colleagues, information and office documents. And in addition to this, the brand new Office Hub for this same operating system connects the Office environment on user’s desktop to their mobile phone and thereby bring collaboration and productivity in a simpler manner as compared to the older cell phones.
In addition to the Windows Mobile 7, the SharePoint 10 boasts of a user interface that is designed to work normally on other mobile devices as well and is also capable of detecting a touch device such as the Apple iPhone. It puts the different links slightly wider apart so that they are simple to touch.
